LASIK Eye Surgery and LASIK Technology
Next to choosing the right surgeon for your LASIK Eye Surgery in New Jersey,
gathering information about the technology used in
your procedure is the most important part of your research. Making
sure that your surgeon uses the most up-to-date equipment is very important, as it
shows that your surgeon serious about utilizing the best technology and giving you
the most options for your LASIK eye surgery.
At Marano Eye Care Centers, we utilize the following technology for our LASIK eye surgery
procedures:
STAR S4 IR Excimer Laser System
The latest technology in excimer lasers, the Star S4 uses data gathered by the
WaveScan WaveFront System to deliver the highest quality results possible. Because
of this precision, the Star S4 IR is able to treat a wider range of patients than
any other laser approved by the FDA.
Technologies like Active Trak® 3-D eye tracking, automatic centering, Variable
Spot Scanning (VSST), Variable Repetition Rate (VRRT), and Iris Registration make
this the highest precision eximer laser available to date.
WaveScan Wavefront System
The "brains" behind the Star S4 IR Eximer Laser System, the WaveScan WaveFront
was originally developed for use in high powered telescopes. By utilizing this
technology for laser eye surgery, the WaveFront can measure imperfections in
your eye up to 25 times better than standard methods. These measurements are
then delivered to the Star S4 Eximer Laser, giving you the most accurate LASIK eye surgery results
possible.
VISX Fourier WaveFront Upgrade
This upgrade to the WaveScan WaveFront system allows for accurate measurements
in patients with larger pupils and can measure optical zones out to 7mm and
transition zones out to 9.5 mm. In addition, this upgrade allows the accurate
measurement of a patient's information regardless of cornea shape.
