Cataract and LASIK Surgery
I have been wearing glasses or contacts for the past sixty years.
When I was told I needed cataract surgery I felt this might be an opportunity to try and get rid
of glasses, although the amount of astigmatism in both my eyes was off the charts. My doctor
recommended seeing anastigmatism specialist, but felt achieving perfect vision was unrealistic.
Through some research, I found Dr. Marano and he discussed my options. Dr. Marano performed cataract surgery and LASIK surgery in both eyes and the results were a miracle.
I will be forever grateful to Dr. Marano because my vision is 20/20 without contacts or glasses. From start to finish the professionalism and ability of Dr. Marano and his staff to make me feel comfortable was remarkable. Many thanks to Dr. Marano for his expertise in dealing with my situation and thanks also to his wonderful staff.

My decision to have the eye surgery was one of the best decisions I
ever made! I had LASIK eye surgery to correct my nearsighted vision. My previous contact
prescription was -2.50 in each eye, and I had to wear contact lenses every day. With the use of
contact lenses comes eye irritation after prolonged use and the aggravation and headache of
constantly making sure you have contacts on hand. Since my surgery, I have had no problems
with my eyes and never have to worry about contact or glasses again. It is such an amazing
feeling to know that when I wake up I can see everything as soon as I open my eyes.
In my professional and personal life, having this surgery has made my life easier. I never have to worry about not having an extra contact when one rips or falls out or the annoyance of glasses. I am extremely pleased with my surgery.
Having Dr. Marano as my surgeon was a perfect choice for me! He made me feel at ease prior to the surgery by explaining each step and the recovery. Moreover, the day of the surgery he made me feel comfortable and relaxed and explained each step of the procedure. I wouldn't have chosen anyone else and I recommend him to all my friends and family! Not only was Dr. Marano helpful, but everyone at Marano Eye Care Center is friendly and accommodating. Whenever I call or stop in they are always attentive and willing help or lead me to the person who can help.
Words cannot describe the experience or having the capability to experience the world without the aid of glasses or contacts. If you are a proper candidate, I would not hesitate to jump on the experience with Dr. Marano!!

I am extremely pleased with my results! They exceeded my expectations, and
to be honest, I had high expectations. To not have to wear glasses or struggle with contacts to watch
TV, watch a movie, or read a book is fantastic and has been a great improvement in my quality of
life! LASIK also helped with my professional life. I can see and read at near and far distances with great
ease and do not have to hesitate or waste time looking for my glasses.
Dr. Marano is a Board Certified Ophthalmologist who does an extensive pre-procedure work up which enables him to know if you are a good candidate for the procedure. He is realistic and honest about what you should expect. After my pre-procedure work up, I felt very comfortable and confident in my decision to have Lasik.
Dr. Marano is also professional and courteous. I felt that he truly had my best interest at heart and would not have proceeded with the procedure if I were not a good candidate.
The staff at Marano Eye Care Centers is wonderful. They were always available, easily reachable, and worked with my personal schedule. They were always available to answer my questions. For me, LASIK was a great decision that has greatly improved my quality of life!

I'm a busy mom of three small children and to be free of glasses and contacts is
amazing. Simple things like not having to stop and take off glasses before jumping in the pool or
fumbling with glasses or contacts in the morning is one of the best gifts that I could have ever given
myself.
The surgery has benefited my professional life as well. My eyes don't seem to fatigue so easily anymore, and just the overall improvement to my vision has helped me with the finer details of my job.

I initially saw Dr. Palumbo who discovered that I had retina issues that needed to be addressed before I could move forward with Lasik. She saw to it that I was seen by retina specialist and the issues were resolved quickly. Dr. Palumbo's care speaks volumes about what this practice is about - providing safe, quality eye care. At that point I knew I was in "good hands" and where I needed to be to have this surgery. I am thrilled with the results. My vision is perfect!!

Jose is a full-time fire fighter and part-time security officer with a past vision
correction procedure that was performed over 10 years ago: radial keratonomy (RK) w/ 16
incisions per eye. Had complications since the years went by - his vision became weaker,
tremendous glare disability, poor night driving, all hindered his ability to drive on
a fire emergency and being able to handle a weapon as a security officer. Jose had
tried a couple of doctors and was told his corneas were to flat for blade
keratome. He was frustrated due to this jeopardizing his career. He was referred

Dear Dr. Marano and the fabulous staff at Marano Eye Care
When I came to you in May 2006, I was practically blind in my right eye and was wearing reading glasses over my contacts to be able to see. I work as a computer consultant on accounting software and also file payroll and sales tax for many of my clients. My poor eyesight was causing me to make a lot of little errors.
Fear of cataract surgery and concerns about the loss of time from work, kept me from looking into surgery, until I finally made an appointment. The surgery was only a few hours of my time and I was back to work in two days. Only a few weeks later, after having the rezoom lens replacement, it was like a miracle to me. I had 20/20 vision in both my eyes.!!!! My bifocal vison was corrected and so was my night blindness!!!

Not having insurance was a problem for me, but your staff helped me easily obtain full financing for the surgery. The follow up care after surgery was wonderful. This was the most amazing experience! Since I was four-years-old I have been wearing glasses.
I am a carpenter and am very active. I love to do karate... and my glasses have always been a
nuisance to me. I could not drive at night- nor would I drive on certain highways and roads
because I had absolutely no peripheral vision. Since I had these procedures on each of my
eyes, I have been free from glasses for the very first time. This is absolutely phenomenal.
I highly recommend this procedure to everyone with cataracts. It could completely change your life!

Last fall I stepped on my glasses for the last time! I'd relied on
glasses each waking moment for seventeen years and while I'd used
contacts, they were not a perfect solution either.
I had been referred to Dr. Marano several times, but this time was different: I wanted complete freedom from corrective eyewear. With each visit I was highly satisfied by the level of service, knowledge and professionalism, from Dr. Marano and his surgery coordinator, Glenn. They always made me feel like I was their only patient!
It's been several months since my surgery and I highly recommend them to anyone and everyone who will listen. My vision is better than 20/20 and I finally have the freedom I've wanted for so long.

I've been wearing glasses/contacts for the past 20 years. My puppy
would hear me reaching for my glasses in the morning, and would know its
time to get up. Now she has to wait for me to actually get out of bed to
get moving, because she has no clues anymore that its time to rise and
shine, unless her bladder tells her :-)
I had always wanted to get the Lasik surgery because I was just getting tired of the daily hassles of taking lenses out and also of taking all this stuff with me when I traveled. The reason for the hesitation was that I wanted to find a reputable doctor, only I didn't put the effort and time into doing it. My sister Rani did the research and had her eyes done and was very happy with the results from Dr. Marano. I decided to go for it, and was very pleased myself with the professionalism and care I received. My vision is better than 20/20. Even though the cost isn't covered by insurance, (I used my flex spend account), it was money well spent!
